Here is a very nice Edison Standard. I just picked this up and its moving on exactly as I got it. It has many, many things going for it. The case finish is original and very nice. The original decal on the case is super. There is no veneer damage on the lid. The paint on the bed plate is very strong, as is the pen striping. For some reason these model B's seem to lose their pen striping over the years. This one remains uncharacteristically strong which is a huge plus! This little B was upgraded with a 2/4 minute conversion to play 4 minute cylinders. It too is in excellent condition and functions really well. This conversion alone sells for $150 - $175 on EBAY! The model H that came with this machine is green tinted. This signifies that it originally came when the machine was converted to 2/4 minutes. It is the brass, not pot metal version. It fits easily into the carriage. It has a good jewel and plays strong. The crank is original with nice plating. The motor runs strong with a good spring. The only real objection on the machine is a damaged corner on the back side (shown in picture). This could easily be repaired as to be nearly invisible.
Overall, this is a very nice little machine that is highly functional. It appears to be unmolested in any way. I purchased it from a gentleman who picked it up in 1970 from an antique store and let it sit in his house. He is downsizing now, and the machine moves on. A little cleaning, add a horn and a 2 minute reproducer and you would be set to hear a broad range of cylinders.
