These oddities do show up. I have the bottom half of an oak Columbia floor model somebody had cut the top off of and then attached the lid to the remaining stump to make a table. Oddly, considering, the record storage mechanism is still in the bottom. It looks rather nice to someone who does not know what it once was.
It was passed off by an antique shop to the previous owner as an antique side table. I bought it for next to nothing and, while it makes me a little sad to think of what it endured, it makes a handsome stand for my Edison Triumph.
