Maybe for a T-shirt, Valecnik, I bought a coffee mug this morning. So technically I am the first. Since I posted the first reply this morning.

Yep, Brucy boy your right on wave length - as per our recent conversation! But I do also want a mug to drink out of too!Valecnik wrote:I agree with Richard. I noticed you have all sorts of mugs on offer and I'm willing to bet Richard was not referring to a coffee mug!

John/David,
Why did you choose zazzle over cafepress . . . cost?
Just curious.

I’ll answer this one since after a good bit of research, it was my suggestion.
The reasons for not going with Cafepress (in some approximation of order were):
- Cost. (With Cafepress, you have to pay to have more than x items in your store. I figure that given enough time, all sorts of phonograph-related images will be on things that someone might want to have, and copyrights permitting, I look forward to taking requests.)
- Selection. Zazzle gives a lot more options on what you can make, and the way I set the shirt and mug designs up, you can have them on any shirt or mug you want, although some of the shirt colors clash horribly with the designs. But if you want yours to look like that—it’s your shirt.
- Favorable comparisons to Cafepress.

I still need to theme the shop (I picked one of theirs that is close to John’s TMF colors), but it may be a bit until that happens—I really didn’t sleep last night, and I had a really long day at work (and a few more long days upcoming this week).
And at the moment, my priorities are probably:
- Finish doing John’s label images so I can start on those of other members.
- Make more designs, including whatever John has in mind of which I may not yet be aware...
- Being lazy while I am at home...
- Theming.

But we definitely look forward to your feedback and requests.

Paul, Congrats on being "the first". I was amazed at the variety of types of shirts one could order, short, long sleeve, sweatshirts, various fabrics and dozens of colors.Edisonfan wrote:Maybe for a T-shirt, Valecnik, I bought a coffee mug this morning. David says, "...the way I set the shirt and mug designs up, you can have them on any shirt or mug you want, although some of the shirt colors clash horribly with the designs. But if you want..." Not a problem for me. My wife almost expects the clashing colors in my closet!

See! Incentive! David, and John, I am glad you both decided to do this. Looks, like you have gotten a lot of positve feedback. As soon as my mug arrives, I will take a picture of me, with it. To post on the board, and the store, comments area.
