Re: CHRYSOVOX
No, but I want one... it's like a Polly portable with a metal horn.

Re: CHRYSOVOX
Weigh? Probably not as much as you think. I have a similar machine: the "Phonos" diaphragm machine but with a celluloid type diaphragm and it is fairly lightweight.
As for the machine on eBay, it has a PAPER diaphragm similar to the Pathé Diffusor system. It is a rare beast but not really worth £500! Mind you, I've seen people paying near that sum for ordinary coloured cased 102's which are very common. I know which machine would interest me more.

Very more similar to the Pathé than anything else, and probably sounds decent. Note the little curve at the outer edge of the cone - that's where all the flexing is possible. I have a nice Pathé Diffusor which is almost silent, because somebody replaced the cone with an actual CONE - no outer curve. It's as flexible as a paper brick!

Re: CHRYSOVOX

you sometimes see these on ebay they sell for the magnet if the speaker cone has holes but the rubber can sill be salvaged
