First Post.. my machines !!!

Post by Turruz »

Hi everyone..I'm Paolo, I'm an italian guy and i have 24... I'm new in this forum and this is my first post .. I want to show my machines .. the first gramophone i bought was my HMV 101 Blue... i bought it on ebay from england...after this i bought my secondone, i bought this from a guy in center of milan.. he said this was of his great grandmother and said he wanted to change his life and go to live in Australia, so he decided to sell the gramophone to a passionate (i bought it only for 40 Euros)... the motor is a Pathé No. 00 ... wood case also a Pathé (with velocity regolation in italian language (Presto= fast... Adagio = Slow).. but the horn i think is a HMV.. and last but not least a Edison Standard model B with old decal and 2-4 minutes gear... :) :P

Welcome to the forum, and thanks for your first post!
You have some nice-looking machines and I hope you enjoy using them.
They seem to accumulate rather quickly!

Welcome to the Forum Paolo. You will find many friends here. I particularly like your Gramophone. The cabinet is ornate and has lots of style. Jerry Blais

Ciao Paolo! e benvenuto!
Di quale parte vieni?
Quella Pathé è una bellezza!

My Italian is worse than my English, and that's already pretty bad.

I have several cousins in Napoli and they don't quite understand my fascination
with Gramophones. Perhaps collecting machines in Italy isn't as popular?.

I've always wanted an Italian made gramophone, but for now I settle with my Lesa CD2/21.

Welcome to the forum, Paolo!

The other posters are right about these things multiplying. They're like rabbits (the machines- not the posters ;) ). But you don't need a lot of talking machines to have fun with them. :)

If you haven't already discovered it, there's a website that you may find interesting and helpful:

http://www.antiquephono.org.

Click on the "Articles" tab and you'll find lots of things to read. The "Videos" tab will let you watch and listen to some wonderful antique phonographs! :)

Thanks for showing us your collection, and best of luck to you.

Thank you at all... thank you Vincenzo... i come from Franciacorta (a small part of north italy, franciacorta is the best place of wine producer.. i study oenology university :P ) don't worry about your italian... it is perfect... my english is not perfect too...

here in italy gramophone and phonographs aren't popoular... i'm young.. i'm 24.... and my friends laugh about my passion.... but i can't do nothing.... my passion make sunny my days...

What do you think about my gramophone... i cant call it with a mark beacuse is not all Pathé... i know it value is not the same of a original Pathé... but i'm fond of it.. and i don't want to search and find the original parts... i want to leave it just as it is..
