strange gramophone's italian accessory

Post by Turruz »

Hi everyone.. today i wanna show u a interesting accessory... "Autofonografo la mia voce"... you can learn about this in this site (ITS IN ITALIAN BUT YOU CAN USE GOOGLE TRADUCTOR)

http://www.museocrescenzipacinotti.it/d ... asp?id=181

i never hear something about this until i find this object on ebay and i win the auction..

with the adjustable legs you can fit the object near the gramophone turntable, you wind up and turn on your gramophone and then you can record your voice (speak inside the horn) on special aluminium discs.
i search on italian site and this was used in scientists laboratory to record voice of scientist and their research, or in the people house to record the voice on postal discs to send the messagge by postal service... the horn was in cardboard and one of this is in the best famous museum in center of milan http://www.museoscienza.org/dipartiment ... arg=tromba ...but they have only the horn and not the body... i have the body but not the horn... THIS IS A PUZZLE PROBLEM ahahahah

Congratulations, this is an interesting little device. I am sure you can easily create a replication cardboard horn to make it work.

I love "Volare"

Very interesting, I've never seen one before. It looks like it uses a Thorens type reproducer as well.

Nice buy, congratulations!

Fascinating! I believe the small disc in the center (in the first link) provides a tracking groove for the recording stylus - right?
