SOLD: Victor #17 Horn - $150

Post by Jerry B. »

I am selling a nicely repainted #17 Victor horn. The horn was intended as standard equipment on a big case Victor 1 but would look great on any Victor II. I am happy to deliver to Union or APS at no charge. Please PM with any interest or questions. The cost is $200. Thanks, Jerry Blais

Wouldn't fit ejackett's small size elbow so it's still available. Jerry

What about an adapter Jerry. The one used on the early Vic I's and the E?

Yes, it would work with an adaptor but that requires an additional $100 part purchase. Jerry

It would fit but would be more suitable for a Vic 2. The standard petaled horn for the three would have been the no. 19, next size up.

Actually, the Victor II & III both used the No. 19 horn. Yes, it would work for both the Victor II & III but it would be to small. This particular horn was made specifically for the late, large case Victor I.

I believe I read a quote in another post last week that stated " A horn should have a wood-grain finish because a re-painted black horn is just that----a repainted black horn and not very interesting." Very possibly that advice would be appropriate here. I wonder why that was not done in this case? If my memory serves me correctly, the quote being referred to was one the posts on the thread "RE-PAINTING HORNS" of last week. James
