This site's poll feature is still busted. I have never seen it work. Has anyone?

I'd say the 1-70, harder to replace in the future.
Didn't you already sell yours??

1-70, an attractive machine which plays records well and has good needle point alignment, and so will not wear records to the extent that the other short-tone arm table models will. The other machines are notorious for heavy record wear.

That was my vote cast for the 1-70---at least, I think it was mine. I, too, got the "invalid" message, so I tried a few more times; I think one of them got through.
What persuaded me to the 1-70 was the very impressive clip recently posted here: http://forum.talkingmachine.info/viewto ... =9&t=15675
Should have gotten to it sooner; it's gone already!

I'll be a contrarian and vote for the VV-IX. I just like the way it looks better, and they are very decent machines.
The survey feature is a nice idea, but it just does not seem to ever work.

I tried to vote for the IX. It has the traditional Victrola good looks. If the choice was for any table model Victrola, it would be the XII. Just like a good steak, make it a bit rare. Jerry

I suppose that it depends upon whether one is primarily a. Collector of records or of machines. To a machine colllector the earlier models with the "Victrola" style cabinets would be infinitely preferable. Of course, for the best of both workds one could always reach across the sea for Gramophone Company model of 1926-8.Jerry B. wrote:I tried to vote for the IX. The HMV model 103 retains the traditional Victrola cabinet whilst possessing good needle point alignment, a No. 4 reproducer and an extended-length horn.

I am with Uncle Vanya on this and would go with the HMV 103/109. Classic Victrola styling and great mechanics. But I also am fond of the Victrola I-70. That's why I have both!
