I will say that when Peter Wall rebuilt my reproducer, it sounds like a nice electric machine. I have the Japanese Victor Orthophonic tabletop VV J-80, and I play it quite a bit. Mr. Wall took some time, but he packed it up real nice. Give him more time, he is the best that I know of in the Orthophonic world. Not too many people are experienced with Orthophonics and have the tools to do the work, and Mr. Wall has the experience and the tools. In fact, Mr. Wall goes back to the 1960's. He was back when Mr. Waltrip was working on Edisons.

Before Peter rebuilt my Orthophonic, it would buzz on high notes and zzzz and sounded like a "tin can". Now I do not get any buzzing, blasting or tin can sound. I have another one that I will be sending him to rebuild, If it takes me a year to get it back, its worth it for a first class job.

All the best,

Jerry

I didn't think my post was that critical of him or his work - I simply asked if anyone knew anything about his status and if he was OK. I think I have been pretty patient - I was told by him it would be a month and have waited about 3 months after that call before even contacting him for an update. I've not been peppering him with emails and phone calls on a weekly basis. Believe me, I know all too well how life gets in the way of other things with working full time, being a weekend musician, and having had 3 kids involved in sports, scouts and other activities. As someone else pointed out, common courtesy goes a long way and that's all I'm looking for. If he's too busy, ran into a snag, etc. I'm fine with that, just respond and let me know. If you think the tone of my posting prompted a "do it yourself" response, it wasn't the intent. The sun will still come up in the morning and the the world isn't going to end if I don't have that reproducer...but I digress
