Nauck's still in business?

Post by FloridaClay »

I know that, sadly, Kurt R. Nauck, Jr. passed away in December. Now I am wondering if they are still in business. I've sent a couple of messages about placing a small order and there has been no response.

I had not heard that. Do you know what happened?

That was Kurt Nauck's dad who passed away. The Kurt that founded the record auction business (I guess he's Kurt III) is still alive and kicking, so far as I know. As Mark Twain said, "Reports of my death are greatly exaggerated".

Perhaps they are just taking a breather following the loss of Curt, Jr. I just wondered because I have bought supplies (such as cylinder boxes and their superb "Disc-O-File" disc sleeves) for some years and always got a prompt reply to inquiries, but it has been quite some time now and no answer to either of 2 emails.

Clay, have you tried calling Kurt? Kurt co-founded a seed company that shares the same FAX number as his record business, so I expect this phone number is valid, provided that someone is still answering it: (832) 493-1357

OK, I will try again using a different email address in case it got caught in their spam filter or something.

Finally heard back from them, basically saying that they had gotten behind with email due to being tied up with getting the next auction catalog ready to go to the printer and that they would get back to me. So yes, it looks like they are still very much in business, which is good news.
