WANTED: Columbia set screws

Post by Lucius1958 »

Looking for a couple of set screws for my Columbia BF: one for the spring barrel shaft; the other for the feedscrew assembly.

Have contacted George V.: he will check to see what he has, but I thought I'd throw this out anyway.

Am I correct in thinking that screw sizes would have been fairly standard in the late cylinder Graphophones?

Bill, I believe the size set screw you need is either a 4-40 or a 5-40 thread. You can get these in any really good hardware store such as Ace or True value. If you can't find them, let me know, and I can get them at my hardware store.

I will check again: although I recollect trying to match one of them in the local True Value, and found that it fell 'between the cracks' of the sizes available...
