Is this a photo of the actual horn? Is it dent free and rust free and scratch free? How is the paint? Would it be the appropriate size for a Victor 3?

Thanks

It looks to be the correct size for a IV but a III could certainly have been upgraded to include the next size larger horn.

I agree it appears to have been repainted. The pin striping is too bright and wide.

It looks like a very nice horn and well worth the price. It looks great on the Victor IV and would look equally nice on a Victor III. I checked my #24 Flower horn and it is 24" across the bell with eleven panels. This horn looks a bit smaller. Perhaps it's a #22 or #19 Flower horn. What is the measurement at the widest point across the bell? This should answer a lot of questions. Respectfully, Jerry Blais

I too would have to concur regarding the gold lines. They are not factory done. Not only are they too wide, they are too crudely executed. The #24 horn was offered with the Vic.V. It was an option for the Vic.IV.
However, a customer could have ordered the horn for any model.

It was not offered as standard equipment in Victor catalogs for a Vic.III.

Here is a #24 in original condition (see attached).

The horn you show is a 10 panel horn. The #24 is eleven panels. The horn you are showing is a #22 or 22" wide horn.
If so, this size horn was offered with a Vic.IV and an option for a Vic.III.

A #19 horn has nine panels and is 19" wide. It was offered on a Vic.III.

Ronnie, I can't understand why you are not posting detailed pics of items you wish to sell....?? :?.

I know no one that buys like this. Selling in this unusual fashion can make people suspicious IMHO.

Well, I thought someone would jump on it at that price. I will have to find it and take some pictures. I honestly thought it was a 24 inch horn. I just looked at it and it has had the gold lines re-painted inside. It also is a 10 panel horn. I don't think the outside or inside has been re-painted. I just measured it and it is a 21 inch horn.

If the gold stripes were added over original paint, it would be easy to wash them off. I think it's a good value at $200. A #22 Flower horn would be correct for a Victor IV and an optional horn for the Victor III. Jerry

I'm sorry to say, after seeing the pic showing the decal. The black has been gone over with something (appearance of brush lines.???). You can see how they worked around the decal. Just click on the pic for a close up.

Regarding Jerry comment about "washing off" the newer gold.....that would depend on the type of paint used and it is also applied on the black areas.

I agree, the lighter black underneath which is visible around the decal and where the top coat has been scratched is the original paint, it was "touched up" at some point with a fresh coat of black and the gold pin-striping.

Ronnie, this is a great example why when selling an item, you show detailed pics. If a member had bought this as you "described"...it could have lead to unhappy feelings all around. It is not just about the price.

The best way to sell an item is the way you would want to see it if you were the buyer.... ;).

Yea, I understand. I just have never been a purist. If it looks good, I buy. If it looks bad, I will make it look good. :P

I never want to jip anyone though. What is it worth I wonder?

Maybe you should start by listing the horn correctly first and foremost. Something like "Repainted 22 Inch Victor Flower Horn". Just a thought.... ;).
