Funny Record Ad

Here's a Pathé dealer's ad from the Oswego Daily Palladium, Nov 30 1923. They included the telegraph codes used for ordering from the distributor or factory, to (I assume) unintended effect. Imagine describing a record as "Garbage" or "Failing", or using a modern-day non-PC term .... !

Of course, at that time, that "non-PC term" was slang for a cigarette, and I think is still used that way in the UK and many Commonwealth countries.

It was also a term for "fatigue"...
