I received a bunch of cylinders yesterday, and amoungst them were several blue BA boxes with the lids pictured below.
Has anyone seen these before?
They are made with a rolled edge at the top, which the removable cardboard disc sits against.
Are these from another brand of box, a lid from something else that just happens to be a perfect fit, or an old/new replacement lid made for the purpose...and if so, made by who??

G-Shane,
These look like Shawn Borri cylinder lids. It even appears to be his handwriting.
Regards,
Scott

Thanks Scott. Gee, I wonder how they ended up in South Australia.
They're a nice little lid actually....I wouldn't mind about 200 more
BTW Scott. Thanks for your email! Much appreciated

Re: Strange cylinder lids
These are not my box lids. I had two kinds of boxes made, by the ACME Spirally Wound Paper Products Company. The first ones were much like a Edison GM boxes with a very thick wall, so the internal diamiter was too small for cotton batting these boxes were used from1999-2002 1000 of these boxes were made, 500 went to Peter Dilg I had a second run of 1000 red oversized. Boxes, these almost looked like Betinni boxes, so I only had 1500 blanks and records sold in original type boxes, I ran out of these about 2005. After that I used vidio, photo storage boxes with pegs, and customers mt gm or Amberol boxes. The funny thing is the writing looks like Mike Loughlins hand writing, perhaps he sold recordings in these boxes,at a later date, I know he retained a few blanks and had a four clip. 1899 Standard,, that ran amazingly smooth, I put sobothane motor isolaters, on it.

Re: Strange cylinder lids
Hi Shane,
these lids look very similar to the cylinders in boxes I got a couple of years ago from Batman Records in Melbourne (the handwriting, at least).
I don't know where Batman got them from though!

Thats very strange Shawn - the handwriting looks VERY similar to the cylinders I got from you a few years ago. The top doesnt look anything like the box tops I got from you though.
