I hate to say it but that really looks like a finial screw for a lampshade or other lighting fixture, especially if I'm seeing from your picture right that the threads only start halfway up and the bottom is unthreaded.

The knurled part, the nickel plating, and the fact that this thing - of all things - should have been found on this machine when so much else was missing - - all this makes me crazy. But the jaded, 57 year-old part of my brain knows the truth. I think.
