Any use for album binders with no pages?

Post by 52089 »

I frequently come across old 78 albums (mostly Victors) with loose and/or missing pages. I sometimes use the loose pages as temporary record sleeves, but is there any use for an album that has no pages, other than perhaps a temporary place holder in a cabinet?

Do you keep them or trash them and if you trash them--what phonograph brands do you have? Thanks

I can't say I've ever come across an album with no pages, but if I did, I'd likely put it in the trash...unless it was an Orthophonic album, which most people only use as display anyway since they are so brittle.

That's pretty much what I was thinking too, but I wanted to see if anyone had any ideas. Looks like they will hit the trash soon.

I once received some disc records through the mail, and the seller used binder pieces to further protect the records (in addition to the usual cardboard squares). The binder pieces would make punctures a virtual impossibility. Just a thought. :)

Well 52089, Did you by any chance get a list of the empty albums---I am interested if you wish them to go to an almost good home. Also have you ever run across any black record boxes (Emerson used them). Thank you Sir
