Here is the early Home I was looing for a horn. It is serial 1769. Does anyone know when the weighed feed screw ended?

Re: EARLY HOME
Weighted half-nuts are sometimes seen on earlier Homes, but the conventional half-nut/bar is sprinkled throughout the earliest production as well, including the earliest "clockwork" examples. Clearly, the weighted half-nut is not a "datable" feature (although it is found only on some early-production examples). There is no "right" or "wrong" type for any early serial number.Amberola wrote:Here is the early Home I was looing for a horn. It is serial 1769. Does anyone know when the weighed feed screw ended?

Re: EARLY HOME
Thanks George,
I noticed the governor weights are brass, and the brake on this one is different?

I'm surprised the cylinder is not "loose" given how many mandrels have been in it...OrthoSean wrote:Nice Home!

Re: EARLY HOME
My 1265 originally had a weighted half nut, and the brake is a shoe that pushes on the governor pad, rather than a leather as later ones have, it also has a holder for the lift lever, the last patent date of 1893. And Never had a trade mark signature. It was made March 1897.
