Question about recovering silk horns?

Post by argand »

I have an eleven panel H&S silk covered morning glory horn with just a trace of the black covering, is it better to leave as is?
I would like to recover it but what type of fabric should be used? What kind of glue should be used?
Should the fabric be top coated?

Thanks for any assistance.

The H&S "Silk Finish" horn I have has a thin stiffened cloth with a tiny pattern stamped into it- I'm not sure that it is actually silk, at the most a silk/cotton mixture. I think you might get the same effect with a quality art paper.
