Sorry for the mistake.OrthoSean wrote:No, certainly not a VTLA motor. It may be the one the XVIII had, but I haven't had mine open in forever to be certain. I think the early non-L-door XVIs used a similar motor as well.

It is in the Victor Data Book.I have never seen any legitimate external horn victor machine with a four-spring motor, automatic brake (that wasn't a special add-on gadget) or (aside from the XXV schoolhouse) a speed control with the see through "window" indicator. are you just talking about victor victrolas in general? if not, where are you getting your information?

There are more things in heaven and earth, Brian's, than are dreamed of in your philosophy, I think.brianu wrote:Silvertone wrote:

I've owned a couple of Victor III machines with the Burton motor, and have seen at least three Victor VI machines with the four-spring motor and the speed indicator, all of which came up from South or Cnetral America.

Very interesting. I like how the motor board and part of the case body lifts together. I wonder if these very late, four spring examples were strictly a exportation model...??. Hence, Uncle's comment of seeing other from the South.

Yes, you are absolutely right. I intended to say "Victor V" NOT "Victor VI"Silvertone wrote:I think you meant to say Victor V machines.have seen at least three Victor VI machines with the four-spring motor and the speed indicator
