Heavens: I was rather surprised how young Mr. Proudfoot looks... I had heard of his work at least 30 years ago... :shock:

Yes he does look very youthful. In fact I'd say he hasn't aged noticeably in the 25 years I've known him. I wish I could say the same! I'm not sure what he's "special trick" might be but it certainly works! Maybe the gramophone interest is an aid to staying young after all! Maybe I need to get back to it soon. Mind you starting from zero is no easy task. Maybe I shouldn't have sold EVERYTHING in such a hurry! :?

When first published the Proudfoot book was, with the exception of the Frow Edison guides, about the only one in the UK aimed at the collector rather than the scholar. I still find my copy useful and refer to it regularly.
