Best needle cutter? Recommendations?

Post by miker2001 »

Anyone have an opinion regarding the best needle cutter for bamboo needles? Ease of use, sharpest cut, easiest to sharpen? Thanks.

Mike,
I have a dozen or so and my favorite to use is the Wade. Its easily held, the socket for the needle is easy to see and find and once you get used to the way the needle goes in to the socket it has a great stop that cuts just enough off and works very quickly. :)

I do like the way Victor (and HMV) cutters have a pan to catch the clippings but its slightly more cumbersome to use and cuts more than the wade, reducing the amount of times a needle can be re-tipped. I have a Victor cutter in the Credenza to hold extra needles and then I just use the Wade sitting next to it for sharpening :P
