On a different eBay note: have you noticed that they now hide the description? You need to click a link to open a new window in order to read the description.
What possible reason could that serve? The page is still cluttered, visually. Hiding the description has no positive purpose I can fathom. I am at a loss to understand their thinking with this.
There is a small link next to the button to "Tell us what you think". That leads to another pop up window with a poll to answer the question "To see a listing’s full description, you need to click a button. What do you think of this?".
I told them exactly what I think. I suggest everyone tell them that it is an annoying and completely stupid additional step that makes zero sense.....

Re: EBAY
Unless I misunderstood you..... Ebay shows descriptions when I look at something. Nothing seems to be different to me...TinfoilPhono wrote:On a different eBay note: have you noticed that they now hide the description? You need to click a link to open a new window in order to read the description.

Re: EBAY
I believe eBay is updating or testing something new. For about a week I to had to use the new description link button to see the description. But it has been back to normal for the last few days, and I'm hoping it stays that way. I did not like it either.TinfoilPhono wrote:On a different eBay note: have you noticed that they now hide the description? Re: EBAY
It's not back to normal for everyone. eBay is testing this somewhat randomly. I'm currently one of the unlucky ones.
There are 45 pages of complaints on eBay's community board over this stupid policy. An eBay spokesman explained it this way:
I have not read all 45 pages but skimming over many of them I haven't seen a single person who likes this new policy. A lot of sellers are livid, and make some good points:

I added the bolding.Yes, we are currently conducting a temporary test that is focused on simplifying and improving the buying experience. The experience you are seeing is how all buyers are currently accessing item descriptions when they use our mobile apps. We are exploring buyer experiences when the buying process is consistent across all devices and screens.

I hate the fact that it adds 3 more clicks to every page view: one to open the description, one to close it, one to go back to the page (for some reason opening the description reopens the background page).I am outraged that the seller's description is now hidden. New customers won't understand that they have to click something to see the product details. And 50% of my buyers are new ebayers, unfamiliar with searching on ebay. They get to my page and it's blank, except for what ebay decides they should see, which is advertisements for dozens of other sellers' items all over the listing. Without my description to catch a buyer's eye, they are gone in a flash.
