Silvertone Why do we undervalue them?

That is either a Saal motor type AAor the type DD. Both the type AA and type DD appear to be identical. The only thing I don't like about these motors is the way the spring hooks to the the spring barrel. There is a rectangular hole on the end of the mainspring and a rectangular shaped lug on the inside of the spring barrel that the spring fits over. A pin that slides though the lug vertically holds the spring to the barrel and it takes two people to hook up the spring.

I like Silvertone!

I would not be in this hobby, if a very kind friend of the family, had not given me a Silvertone portable.


Wait a minute, perhaps I am not looking at this in the right way...

The Silvertone was the start of a very severe and expensive addition to antique phonographs and records...

Oh well, I'm stuck now.
