Details of burned employee?

Does anyone know the name or more information about a young man who worked with experiments for Columbia when they were trying to make there own wax ( He worked with McDonald, Not Melzer.) I will have to check through things to find mention of the incident, but during a court case it is mentioned that an employee burned to death making cylinder compound.
