Re: victor 16 early and late?
Thanks for posting the photos... this is an interesting combination of features:
> Improved Concert sound-box (with triangular hole)
> Crank towards front
> Speed control towards back
> First style auto-stop
> "Old-style thin taper-tube" where the reproducer rests on top part of tube ( rather than along-side, on a little tab ).
Just going off the top of my head, a suffix E should be around 1912...
I would have been expecting an Exhibition sound-box, crank in the middle, and speed control up-front...
Is the cabinet label still intact ? What is the date ?

Unfortunately, the paper tag has very little left of it.

Here is the cabinet label from my 1909 C/B XVI. It is located inside, on one of the sides. Picture taken through the trap-door on the back of the machine.
Label is officially dated august 1, 1909, in the lower-left, but below that, outside the border lining, is what appears to me to be a date-code, perhaps for the label design: 7-18-9.
I am assuming that the license label for your -E machine is on the bottom of the cabinet ?

Nothing on the bottom of the machine, I only have a bit left of the center of the tag ,located on the back. My L door and my early 14( with the queen Ann legs), have the trap door, and have tags behind the door. This 16, has a panel on the back, and I have taken the motor out for some adjustments, and no sign of tags inside exist.
