I sold the two Edison phonographs I had in high school as I never much cared for cylinder music or sound reproduction. I was given a free Dictaphone today, however, and still own three or four music cylinders. Can they be played on the Dictaphone? Would it be worthwhile to even mess with the thing, or shall I just put it up on a shelf?

Damon, Dictaphones record/reproduce at 160 lines per inch, so entertainment cylinders cannot be played on them.

Re: Using Dictaphone to play standard cylinders
I second that, they ruin entertainment cylinders. You can only play ones that you make, however yours is a playback only machine.
