Re: Edison B-19 Rescue
I am curious, which machines are more common the rouge (reddish color) or Natural (Blonde) color B-19 Chalet?

Wow!! You did a great job! The B-19 is just a nice size restoration project to take on.

I find the rouge to be much more common than the "naturel". I jokingly refer to them as "fake mahogany" and "fake pine"Victrolacollector wrote:I am curious, which machines are more common the rouge (reddish color) or Natural (Blonde) color B-19 Chalet?

Funny, Dutchman: I was just re-aquainting myself with this thread and noticed this picture in your first post!dutchman wrote:A while back I bought this B-19 off Ebay. It was in really bad shape and came out of the box in several pieces.Looking at the sellers photos it was in bad shape and just what I was looking for to help pass the winter months. All the joints were loose, most of the top veneer missing, side veneer flapping in the wind, the top of the rear frame was broken off, grille missing, large section of the lid broken off, etc etc. I love rescuing these machines. here are a few pics of its rescue. I got a grille from Gramps treasures.
Coincidence, or an indication of original factory finish troubles?
This is a photo of mine, showing a very similar defect:

Re: Edison B-19 Rescue
What is your address so I can start shipping you some machines to restore? And PS: Gramp's Treasures has made me many grills even on machines he has never heard of or seen. Amazing work

Sorry, but after reading that, all I can think of is Archie Campbell's story of RinderCella who went to the bancy fall, met the pransome hince and then slopped her dripper...dutchman wrote:That was me slopping the stripper on the lid.Cheers

Gramp's Treasures - a man of few words - put a request in for this grill and didn't hear a peep until the grill arrived.briankeith wrote:What is your address so I can start shipping you some machines to restore? I'm a little late responding to the thread. Really nice work. You took a machine from the "dead" and made it into something nice and beautiful. Great job and well done.
