I recently picked up a second Victor Z with a serial number of 50,XXX. I have another Z in my collection with a serial number of 20,XXX. Were the serial numbers of the Z mixed in with the Victor I? The Victor Data book lumps the Victor R, Victor Z, and Victor I together. There are slight differences between the two machines such as the turntable and brake.
Thanks, Jerry Blais

Re: Question about Victor I and Victor Z serial numbers.
Jerry,
Congrats on picking up another Z. I have only found one in all my years of digging. I checked my Z and Vic I. The serial number on the Z is 14048 and the Vic I is 4136. The case style for the early Vic I looks to be the same as the Z. With your Z in the 50,XXX range, I wonder how many were made.
Boy, taking pictures makes me realize that I need to do some dusting.

Re: Question about Victor I and Victor Z serial numbers.
My Z with the 20,xxx serial number has the bevelled edge turntable and brake that rubs under the turntable like yours. The Z with the 50,xxx serial number has a thick edged turntable with bullet brake. As scarce as a Z seems to be, I suspect the serial numbers are mixed in the the Victor 1 but I have no proof. Jerry,
Can you post some pictures of your later Z? It would be nice to see the differences.
Thanks,
Ken Brekke

For what it's worth, my Z is s/n 2674. So far, mine is the oldest!

Here are some photos of my Z with the high serial number. The original horn is being straightened by John D. and should be back shortly. Jerry Blais

Re: Question about Victor I and Victor Z serial numbers.
My Z is a later one (not as late as Jerry's) serial number 30894. Is still has the beveled turntable but has a later ID plate with nipper on it.
