Can you identify this Electrola model?

This listing is in the San Franvisco Bay Area and is not mine... Looks like it would be a 1929 model using the Victor Radio but the only models that fit that bill are the R-32, R-52, RE-45, RE75, RE-154, and RE-156, that I know of. Those however would have RCA-Victor logos. I'm confused. Anyone know which model this is?

There are a few early Micro-Synchronous sets which have turned up in these more elaborate cabinets with Electrola decals. We're zi nearer SF I would jump on that cabinet, for it is something seldom seen.

I have one very similar to this one. Looking at it closely the cabinet is a little different or at least has been modified. It has the RE-45 electronics and a later style model tag that say RE-45-S. I assumed it was from a pre production run of different cabinet styles.

Wow, very interesting. So strange to have a Victor logo and not have a RCA-Victor logo. For this cabinet's model number to have a S suffix to mean Special is different than the earlier SP suffix to mean Speacial, or the S meaning a Victrola made with space for you to install your own radio.

SkiHawx, if possible, could you post pictures of yours? It would be interesting to know what kind of serial number on that you have as well.

EarlH, odd indeed but I don't think it was designed for 2 speakers. Perhaps some early indecision (or choice) on which amplifier to use (small or big) which moved the speaker from the more central hole to the one on the right.

Mine is pictured in one of the Victor Data books. I'm not sure which one. Machine is still packed away in an unfinished room of the house.
I am slowly getting the house remodeled but I had to go skiing today. My recollection was that it was a 3 digit serial number in the 600's.

By the way, I just noticed that the motor board is not set up for the Micro-Synchronous parts. The board is drilled to take the earlier Orthophonic style tone arm, as used on the 9-16 and other machies of that vintage. It will be interesting to see what amplifier mihr have been use with this model, though it appears that the regular Micro-Synchronous amplifier will fit, even if two speakers are to be driven. Note that the trim piece just above the radio dial is identical to that on the 4-40.

I went and saw that cabinet a couple of weeks ago, and bought some parts off it. Here's the tonearm. I can take more shots if you need them.

There were no other components on the machine. The lady bought it with a bunch of other radios, all pretty clapped out, in an abandoned storage auction.

Interesting mine has the RE-45 tone arm on it but is an almost identical cabinet.
