What a beautiful looking machine! The previous owner has done a very nice job of restoring it. Although some collectors may not like the fact that it has been refinished.

Thanks. I normally like machines that are untouched too, but when I saw this machine I just couldn't resist. It also depends on "who" did the refinish. If the good Dr. had to pay for a professional refinish, it could run in the hundreds of dollars.

BTW, the photos are really too bright. The machine is quite darker in person. I had to use extra lighting to keep from using a flash. I'm not much of a photographer :(

The inner grille looks like that from a 1B, but maybe they changed styles somewhere toward the end of 1A production?

The inner grill is correct. The cabinet could have housed either. I've had two 1As and a 1B with the same grill.
