Poor Sound from Edison K Reproducer
Question for all: How would I know if the K reproducer on my Edison Gem needs to be rebuilt? Is it low sound level or is that a different issue? What causes a low sound level? Thanks.

Slightly off topic but I have also noticed that the volume from a model K reproducer isn't really loud. I think a model C or H sounds much better.
If your reproducer needs to rebuilt it may have a tinny sound and it will blast, rattle, etc.

I think your K reproducer needs a total rebuild. The gaskets need to be replaced, possibly a new diaphragm, and maybe the stylus is worn. I had a K reproducer rebuilt by Steve Medved, and it barks really loud.
