After an excruciating 4 months, I finally brought my new Opera home from the Wayne show this past Sunday. It's a gorgeous all-original Mahogany example with a very low serial number. I couldn't be more pleased with how it looks or runs. It has both L and Diamond A reproducers as well, though the L needs to be rebuilt. At the end of this post I have attached a YouTube video of this machine playing a wonderful Grand Opera cylinder by Marie Delna.

Hi Brandon, very nice machine. Now I'm jealous and going to have to get one also. It seems that recently I've been bleeding money, when will it stop? EVER???

Great looking machine! Very fortunate to find a mahogany horn that does not have any splits.

Re: Home with the Opera at Last!
nice, but the weight of that machine can't be good for the lid of the 8-9 beneath it, can it? I've often wondered about using larger floor models to display or use smaller table models on top... wouldn't the weight of the latter over time cause some bowing in the lids or tops of the former?

It was only on the 8-9 for photos, since that's where I do my machine photos. You'll see it's on a cylinder cabinet in the YouTube video...brianu wrote:nice, but the weight of that machine can't be good for the lid of the 8-9 beneath it, can it?
