I have a couple of 1975 Micro-Acoustics FRM-1 loudspeakers in our dining room, and they're 26" tall x 15.25" wide. Barbie hates them. She doesn't care that they sound great...they're "too big." I can't wait to show her this... ;)

I couldn't help but get sucked into the post preceding those colossus' that mentions the Shearer horn and my hero: John B. Lansing. Eventually the early research of those individuals' efforts led to the creation of my own personal favorite pair of loudspeakers: the Altec-Lansing Duplex 604-8G. Mine are from around 1974 and have been paired with custom crossover networks that I built myself in 2006ish.

Just had to share. ;)

Here is a pic (lifted from the web) of the humongous speakers that are the subject of this thread. I would love to hear them.

It might be a "once-in-a-lifetime" experience---meaning, you'll never hear anything ever again. ;)
