Just when I thought I'd finally hit the Wayne show without bringing another machine home, I got a call from a good friend who had just found an 8-7 in an old man's house and he didn't want it since a) it's too big and b) it needs some help. I love a project and even though I'm beyond capacity, I just couldn't resist after I saw a couple of cell phone photos. I was even happier when I finally got home and could look things over. A few things mentioned were nothing more than minor adjustments and typical cleaning. The front doors have some strange veneer lifting going on that can be repaired, but I haven't decided if I'll tackle this or take it to someone local who can do it reasonably. Anyway, I thought I'd share some photos. I lightly cleaned just the inside playing compartment and the right side. I'm pretty confident it's going to turn out really nice with more of the same. An interesting side note, I was blown away by the volume this puts out. Hard to describe, but it kind of reminds me of a Credenza on steroids. I measured both this and the horn on my Credenza and this one is actually a bit bigger.

Thanks Fran! This will be a fun project.
I loaded those B-250 photos I promised you awhile ago and I'll get them posted tomorrow night.
Best / Sean

Nice! The oak grain on the sides (and even the back!) is really striking.

Sean, that is a real beauty. Put a ramp on your house and you can take this everywhere.

I forget why there's a removable panel on the back ... (kitty sez: open that up & let me see if there's any meeses in there!)
ps - Now that I think about it, the whole back is probably removable to get at the horn connections

If you mean the rectangle near the floor that is a kick plate to help in tilting the machine.Edisone wrote:I forget why there's a removable panel on the back ... (kitty sez: open that up & let me see if there's any meeses in there!)
I think the 8-8 has a folding shelf on the back.
