Personally, I don't see anything there that would motivate me to go that high, but there have been other occasions...

Because the seller separates the 10/12 positioning buttom mechanism into two lists. And you can see the winner for both lists is the same...This person probably just wants to compete for a pair.... How smart the seller is.

The only thing that is relatively uncommon is the horn-mounted finger for the 10"/12" positioner. But certainly nobody is that desperate for one of those to pay this sort of big money. Stinks of shilling...maybe the seller had two shills and they screwed up their coordination.

I agree, because it took two separate auctions to provide the complete 10-12 button accessory. The buttons are worthless without the actuator "finger" attachment for the horn. Smart and crafty eBAY seller!

Utterly stupid buyer though! That accessory is only marginally useful at best, even when you actually own a 12" diamond disc.

For that kind of money, I just had the fleeting impulse to take all of mine off of my machines and sell them!

I don't know a thing about the sales, but the usefulness of the push buttons is of some help when as I do your main player in the home is a console where the mechanism is below the point where you can detect the lead in grooves. On the Chippendale I can bend a bit and easily see where the stylus is, but not on the console and at night its a real advantage. I don't think I will ever actually have a 12" record seeing what they tend to go for..
