Title and year of made?

Hi all, I recently acquired this beautiful pink Lambert cylinder along with several Blue Amberols. The words on the rim have faded out badly and really can't tell serial # and title. Any input is welcome. Thanks!

The title is Commemoration March by (anonymous) Band.

Can't help with anything else.

The serial number appears to be 643, or something close to that.

Commemoration March , looks to me . Can you play it? (DON'T force it onto the mandrel - I split a beautiful Black Lambert that way, to my great regret.)

Thank you all! Unfortunately, like other Lambert cylinders, it shrinks and unfits any mandrel I have at the moment. I'll try to ream the inner edge and post a video after than. Btw, since it doesn't have inner core to support fragile celluloid surface, would Model C be too heavy for playing back ?

Most of the Lamberts I have owned in the past required slight reaming to fit. Just be patient and remove small amounts until you have the desired fit. Despite shrinkage, none of mine ever skipped. The Model C reproducer will work just fine. Even a Model O would work just fine.

If my memory is correct, the only Pink Lambert that I have kept is the "Commemoration March". The announcer had a heavy British accent and was very solemn in his announcement. I think the band was announced as the "British Military Band". Recorded in London, no doubt. It is a very pompous piece that you would expect from a global empire. I also recall having to slow the record down from the standard 160 rpm so the announcer would not sound like Mickey Mouse.

A number of Lamberts play around 144 RPM and some even slower. As noted above, a model C reproducer is fine, using a model O if available will blow you away, my Lamberts all sound far superior to even the cleanest Edison 2 minute wax cylinders. It's interesting, at least to me, that most of the band and instrumental Lambert issues seem to come from Britain. The announcements are indeed very dramatic and sometimes more fun than the musical content itself.
