Record Sleeves
I have a crate full of 78s that I want to get sleeves for, but even the simple white ones are so expensive! Does anybody know where to find cheap sleeves (like 10 cents each) that are of decent quality?

You've looked here, I assume: https://www.bagsunlimited.com/c-164-paper-sleeves.aspx
Not your price point, though.

Yeah, I looked there, I looked at sounds wholesale, Juno, sleeve city, all kinds of places. Actually, Juno's prices aren't bad, but the shipping kills it.

Re: Record Sleeves
Bags Unlimited, 500 ten-inch sleeves, $118, no shipping charge. Can't get much better than that. Loose enough to hold an Edison DD. All my 78s are in these sleeves, with the original sleeves stored away for posterity. You can print labels for the sleeves or run them directly through your printer if it accepts this size. paper.

Re: Record Sleeves
I agree, you won't get much cheaper than bags unlimited. That's less than a quarter per sleeve.

Re: Record Sleeves
Of course Kurt Nauck has the best sleeves on the market, but it would bankrupt someone like me to buy enough for my collection so Bags Unlimited it is. I have bought from them several times for both 78s and 45s and have been very pleased with their products and services. The only thing I haven't been able to find there is a heavy weight 12" sleeve suitable for 78s.

Re: Record Sleeves
I have not found suitable 12" sleeves either, so I got Disc-o-Files for all of them. Quite the investment! Luckily most of the records I buy are 10"...phonojim wrote:Of course Kurt Nauck has the best sleeves on the market, but it would bankrupt someone like me to buy enough for my collection so Bags Unlimited it is. Re: Record Sleeves
Bags Unlimited sells a 12 inch white heavy duty sleeve in the LP section. They're very nice and will hold most 12 inch 78s without issues. Some acoustic Columbias and Victor Grand Prize discs are slightly too big for these, but everything else is fine. I try to grab large lots of the 12 inch Cohoes "recorvelope" sleeves for those when I see them for sale, in fact, I bought several hundred from Nauck a couple of years ago very inexpensively.
