For me it was this Victor 0 that had its original finish on both case and horn. This is the best horn I have seen that hasn't been redone or doctored. Paid $1000 and happy with my purchase.
Please add your Stanton's bargain to this thread and include a pic or 2 for bragging rights.

I came home with all 3 Roosevelt BAs, a Standard AA, and a bunch of other stuff I didn't need!

A $300.00 Pre-war Capehart, nearly perfect finish and in good working order.
Or perhaps the working but dirty Columbia BC for $600 (56" brass horn for this machine was $20)
Then there are the pianos, harpsichords and Orchestrelle, $50 for 7 instruments, and the working ( mechanically restored) Wilcox and White "Angelus" piano player for $5.00, including a piano dolly.
Of course, there were some pretty expensive things, too. One must pay for quality stuff, even though the cheap junk can be more fun sometimes.

Nice deals! Those mid 1930s RockOla and Seeburg "woodies" are real eye-catching jukeboxes. They sure sound great when properly restored too.

I agree with Sean. These "woodies" are sure something to look at and for the longest time unappreciated and undervalued by juke collectors. It seems they are starting to become favored.OrthoSean wrote:Nice deals! Those mid 1930s RockOla and Seeburg "woodies" are real eye-catching jukeboxes. I've been going over Marc's Rock-ola and find that the mechanism has been pretty well restored, although the end of record trip is not acting reliably. The amp and speaker have been been replaced with modern (solid state) units, but I have the correct amp here in front of me, so after I get the trip pawl sorted I'll start on re-capping the amp. Marc got a splendid machine!

Those trip pawls can be fussy, but I'm sure you can sort that out, Bob. The first time I had one of these pre-war mechs apart, I couldn't figure out the gravity effect to make mine work right after modifying the tone arm to track at 8 or so grams. Finally got it, but it was certainly a learning experience!

Wow. I knew that the keyboard mechanical music items had fallen from favor, but this is still something of a shock. Somebody got a great deal. My congrats on that winning that beautiful Capehart.
