Frank, you mean a Sparton Bluebird..?. The one in the pic is a recent Crosley repro. My Great Grandmother had one. Wish I knew were that went.

On which model Edison does the lighting bolt reproducer belong? Jerry

The "Lightning Bolt" reproducer was used on the scarce Deco model portable phonograph.

Frow agrees with you in his description of the "Needle type portable", but the picture he shows has the reproducer used on the P-1 and P-2!

I was fortunate enough to get the VV-50 in the original shipping crate via phone bidding. I would have loved to been able to attend this auction. But, I couldn't get off from work. There were some real nice items. I'm hoping someone that attended posts some pictures of the sale.

Have you received it yet? It looked like it had been uncrated. Does it look to be NOS or just a VV-50 that was put in an old crate? Just curious.

Thanks to so many on here that took the time to put up pics and tell about the auction. I've never been to Stanton's, probably won't ever get there either, but it looks like a clean, well-organized operation. There were a number of bargains there for sure, but overall if I were the one with a collection to sell off, I'd probably be happy with dealing with Stanton's.

Good Items go for Good Money average stuff goes for cheap . Big bulky average stuff they almost pay you to take it away......

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, Steve Stanton is The Best. He runs a fair and honest auction, works his butt off traveling all over the country to assemble a vast array of items every 6 months, and charges the lowest commission around. I have been faced with upwards of 25% buyer's premiums by auction houses that won't give you the time of day, before or after. Steve will go to great lengths to make his clients happy.

My wife, who has met and likes Steve, has often said that in the event of my demise, she will have a tough choice in deciding who to call first...the undertaker or him.
