Thanks for the updates! I happen to have the Victrola 4-3 as well as the CC-32 Edison. (They are for sale if anyone is interested!)

That's the VV-8-4. It was a short lived model that used a medium sized re-entrant style horn, about ¾ the size of the one used in the Credenza. I've listened to a couple and except for the deep bass notes you hear on the Credenza, it's a close match.

In the condition it's in, missing the right legs and stretcher, I'd say it's worth about ⅕ of what the seller wants. (I saw a nice one, with all parts intact, for sale on craigslist for about $400 last year.)

BTW, did you spot this one? http://austin.craigslist.org/fuo/1356497213.html
Wish I lived 1,500 miles closer; I'd check it to see what's missing.

Damn shame that C-200 has been badly refinished! That C-19/250 is stunning, if only...

That Viva Tonal has had a chop done to it...too bad!

That does look like an unusual piece, but oriental type lacquers were somewhat popular even up until the 1950's. Stromberg-Carlson made a television cabinet called the "Mandarin" which was so popular that people wanted to buy it even without the television.

That "Garrard" piece is likely completely modified from the original. It is, indeed, a Farnsworth chairside radio/phono, probably a GK-67 or similar from about 1947. It would have had a Farnsworth P-56 record changer (78only) and Farnsworth radio set in it originally. Although Capehart/Farnsworth was known to have some specialty cabinets built for its most expensive models during this period, I doubt that this relatively inexpensive model would have had such a cabinet supplied by the factory. Along with the transplanted radio and changer, this paint job is also probably a custom job, done at a later date.
