Pathé Actuelle

Post by audiophile102 »

My good friend Roger, who owns Touch of Beauty Brass in Brookfield Illinois acquired a beautiful Pathé Actuelle in excellent condition. I didn't get to hear it play yet, but I will return to hear it before it is sold. This is an interesting machine with a beautiful cabinet. My pictures don't look very good as I shot them with my cheep cell phone.

If he is selling it... what price?

It's not for sale at the present. Roger will service the machine first and clean the cabinet before he decides to sell it. The machine was a part of an estate sale which held a large number of antique phonographs. The Sonora Invincible I bought came from that estate sale where Roger bought a large number of phonographs. The conditions of the phonographs range from perfect, (my Sonora) to beyond repair, (lots of salvaged parts). He has already sold quite a few, but he has more! The Pathé Actuelle was just released by the estate yesterday and it's a beauty. I know Roger will sell the machine fast once it is serviced, because his prices are quite reasonable. Here is his contact information. Roger Merenkov Touch of Beauty Brass 9034 Brookfield Ave, Brookfield, IL 60513 (708) 387-0360

I own two Pathé Actuelle's. One is a Model J in mahogany and the other is an English Gothic Art Model in oak, or Tudor model T. The Model T has been completely restored and the Model J's motor has been gone through. Its cabinet needs a refinish. Both are for sale and can be delivered to CAPS in August.
