Cleaning a painted Horn

Post by columbia1spring »

I have a Columbia painted horn, original paint and it's very thin. Is there anyway to clean this without removing any paint?

Google "cleaning with bread"
Might be worth a shot. I've never tried it but heard of people who did.

Hello,

I have had good success with Windex. Moisten a soft cotton cloth with Windex and lightly rub the area you wish to clean.

Do not spray directly on the horn and work in small areas to control how much comes off (dirt) while watching for any paint flakes which may come off.

Keep wiping until there is no dirt coming off on cloth.

I often recommend Gojo/Goop but would strongly advise not to in this case due to the fragility of the horn paint.

Good luck

Bruce
