New(To me) Edison Triumph

Well, it is my lucky day today. I was offered this Edison Triumph with the eleven panel wood-grained horn, O reproducer, Diamond B reproducer, and full(252) of the cleanest and loudest 2 minute Edison and Columbia records I have ever seen or heard. I definitely need to put a sock in it when I played them. The previous owner even offered to deliver it to me. He lives about 4+ hours away. My Union fun money is a little depleted now but I couldn't pass up this Edison especially with the horn and the condition it is in. The O reproducer is potmetal and works alright. I put my brass one on instead. I need to locate an original Triumph cygnet horn as the one on it is a reproduction and the horn doesn't fit right. It is on my Union "wishlist" I will probably be putting the O reproducer and many of the records in my booth at Union or in the Yankee Trader section.

Nice machine Ken. Congrats!! You said "I need to locate an original Triumph cygnet horn as the one on it is a reproduction and the horn doesn't fit right". Can I assume you meant you need a crane? I'll look through my piles and see if I can help.

OOPS!! Yes, I should have mentioned that I am looking for a Triumph cygnet horn crane. The face of the horn is tilted way too far back with the reproduction crane. Thanks for your offer to look for an original one for me.

Here are a couple more pictures that show the crane. The back of the horn touches the crane. Also, the top hanger section for the threaded rod isn't level. I am wondering if the top half of the crane is bent out of the shape that it needs to be in to align the horn to the machine.

Could it be that you have the crane that is intended for a slant front carriage machine--- I have a repro crane on my Home F with an original Oak cygnet horn--top carriage. The bend in the lower part of the crane gives about 5 ½" deflection.. The deflection on a slant front(Fireside) cygnet crane is about 3 ½". Both of these cranes are from Ron Sitko and fit the machines very nicely.

Very nice machine and cabinet.

I recently acquired a similar cabinet but the locking mechanism is damaged. Can you take a couple photos of your cabinet, showing the lock and top of the doors so I can visualize what mine should look like.

I think you may have identified your problem. You appear to have the proper crane sections, but the top section does seem to be pointing a bit "high." Try clamping that piece in a vice at its base and see if you can gently finesse the entire piece downward/forward about an inch or so...

Thanks to all for the responses. I will have to do some experimenting when I get more time. The door knob turns to open the doors. They both open at the same time. I was very excited to see all the original pegs inside.
