It seems to have a unique mix of bright-work parts. Nickel, gold and spray-painted. It is a handsome cabinet.

If anyone is interested, I have the actual hatchet that George Washington chopped down the cherry tree with, but it has had six new handles and four new heads since he owned it.

Makes me wonder, has anyone ever tried to pawn off a phonograph that was "personally owned by Thomas Edison?" I guess if they did, they'd have to simulate the bite marks on the side of the cabinet.

I have actually encountered a number of persons over the years who insisted the 'Lab Model' medallion was proof that the machine was TAE's own, and that the gold umbrella signature decal was an actual autograph proving ownership provenance.

Interesting. I used this opportunity to read a little about Wyatt Earp and discovered that he lived in Hollywood by the time he was purported to own this XVI, counted John Wayne, Tom Mix, and William S. Hart among his friends, and that his wife Josie was Jewish.

Oddly enough-now that you mention that. I have an old VHS tape of the movie Sunset with James Garner as Earp and Bruce Willis as Tom Mix. It's pretty worn so I haven't watched it in a while, but long story short-IIRC there a light toned VV-XVI in the movie.

I have George's hatchet made from the fourth handle and third head. I'll sell it for whatever John wants for his, less a dollar. Brianu will guarantee it's authenticity
