Interesting Shipping Story

Post by Bruce »

Well after patiently watching and waiting I finally found the correct blue horn for my Harmony front mount phonograph on ebay. But that is not the story, getting it is.

The horn sold for a great price from an auction house in Pennsylvania who promptly sent it by USPS to my mail box just south of the boarder in Blaine Washington. I guess a couple of days travel time from Pennsylvania to Washington was too efficient for USPS so when it arrived in Seattle someone thought it needed a few more state stamps on its travel book. Six days later it arrived in Anchorage, Alaska. It must have caused a little bit of a stir, being as there is no Blaine in Alaska, so two days later it was sent bask to Seattle and after a 14 day excursion was delivered in perfect condition to Blaine.

That is not all to the story, however. The seller utilized the ebay shipping calculator which over charged me $ 105. The seller "deyoungauctions" was very gracious about the error and refunded me the overage with out any hesitation.

So the moral of the story? Patients is a virtue and ebay can be a good place to do business.
