Estate Sale find!!

Post by dennislpr »

Hello guys, I'm so excited to show you my newest find. Today I went to an Estate Sale and found this HMV Model No.7 Gramophone, look at the horn I have never seen one like this. I wasn't expecting to find anything at this place, but luckily I was wrong.

Nice machine. The Monarch No. 7 is the successor of the Monarch Senior. That's the equivalent of the Victor D. Your machine is like a late Victor V. Does your machine have a 3 spring motor? Is your crank male or female? I really have a soft spot for these open horn HMV machines.

Yes it has a 3 spring motor and the crack is female. I will take some pictures of the motor and crank later.

Dennis, Is that a 24B horn? If it is I think you would be in the running for bargain of the year. Nice find.

Like Harvey, I have a soft spot for real nice unmolested English HMV models. For your information Dennis, the Brass horn is the proper UK version of the earlier made Victor 24b horn. The connector is different to a US Victor version and this horn appears more prevalent than it's US cousin. Maybe, because it was offered throughout all countries that sold HMV products..??. France, Germany,etc...

That horn looks great on a Melba... ;).

Wonderful in it's current untouched condition. Congrats on a great find... :D.
