Forum Members at Union

Post by Valecnik »

I met and talked to so many Forum members at Union! Unfortunately, surely missed many more as there is no easy way to identify them.

Among the highlights of the show was a small Friday evening "phono concert" in our hotel room attended by forum members Phonocookie, Dustie and others during which Stoneman, NY Military Band, Teddy Roosevelt and Billy Murray were featured.

I also wanted to thank Phonocookie, PhonoPhan, Shawn and HisMaster'sVoice for facilitating the packing/storing/transporting of some of my treasures. :D

I also was fortunate to meet many forum members in person for the first time. Unfortunately I obviously also missed several, sorry that I did not get to talk to you Bruce. Many of us put our forum names on the name tag, but that was only for sellers and early buyers. We probably should agree on some kind of identification for future shows. In any case, I really enjoyed the show and still dream of the Sanfilippo collection. Was well worth the 14 hours drive each way.

Isn't there a TMF shop online? We could just get the shirts and sharpie our usernames on them

I too met several members, but I know most of the others that were there were hidden from me. I think some type of badge or something next year might be a fun idea.

I put my real name and my username on my early buyers pass. Most of the people I met I asked if they were members of this forum but I only found a few who were.

I wasn't able to get to Union this year. We had planned to but had to drop the idea at the last minute. I went several times from the late 1990s to 2000 or '01 - can't remember but I haven't been since and was really looking forward to going. Oh well, I do have Stanton's 50 miles away so I get 2 chances a year to buy some really great stuff. We're planning for next year and hopefully will get there.
I second (third or whatever) the idea of wearing badges with our screen names on them so we can recognize each other. I have talked to several of you at Stanton's and nor realized it. I'd like to Be able to put faces with names.

In 2009, a bunch of us did wear forum name tags at the Wayne spring show that year. MordEth (David) did graciously post a template which can still be viewed here:
