Picked it up today and I have to say I really like it!! Didn't think I would like it at first. Solid Walnut and one heavy SOB. It does have the crank an electric motor. One of the nicest original finish phonographs that I have seen. Plays very good and the hardware finish is almost perfect.

Ended up with a Dolphin Key, 3 Edison Binders for records, Kentone 78 Adapter(although in nickel finish).

Was picked up in Southern Iowa about 30 years ago and has been Iowa City until early this year.

That is stunning, Larry!

Electric automatic stop, after all! I wonder; is the motor an electric winding mechanism, or is it an actual motor that drives the turntable?

I'm very jealous! :o :D

Fran,

I think it has a motor to run the turntable. I don't think I will plug it in just crank it up and play. Maybe some one will step up with some more information.

That's understandable, Larry, it would be unwise to subject it to modern mains voltages, at the very least, and especially without having it checked out first.

What a fascinating "C250"!

That just looks like the top of a Motrola winder, which may have been appended by the factory, or added otherwise. Looks pretty clean though. Yes, and a Duncan Stop. So you have as electrical a Diamond Disc as one could get.

Great score. Super awesome. Congrats!

What a great find! Congratulations and I can't wait to hear more as you find out more about it! I'm not a console person, but this is rather good looking and I would be proud to have such a machine in my collection. Good job!

Quite stunning, and looks as if it needs nothing more than a little cleaning. The special Edison Records albums must be pretty rare. Dumb question: does the grille cover slide under the grille area, or must it remain hanging out while you play records? Cats and kids would love to perch on it, I'm thinking!

OMG. :o If this machine was in central Iowa, it was offered to me 10 years ago for $2,000. I couldn't tell you who the collector was that offered it to me - I have since changed emails. In any case, I didn't have the funds at the time, so I had to pass on it. I can't help but wonder if this is the same machine. :?:
