Re: Identify Victor Model
I think the complete set of folders should almost double the value.
If the finish is in decent shape, and the machine needs no more than cleaning and fresh lube, I would suggest $350-$450 ? (Maybe more ?)
Depends, I guess in whether it's going to be a keeper or a flipper...

Re: Identify Victor Model
Well I finally picked it up this morning and it's still in the back of my van. I was very pleasantly surprised when I saw it. It it a Victor VV-XIV in quartersawn oak that is in like new original condition with all of the albums and some great records. It also had the dealer record duster where it was bought along with some books. I was buying thus to sell but now that ive seen it I may keep it. Will post some pictures tomorrow after I get it inside.

Re: Identify Victor Model
Hey, Brooks music store Somerville NJ. I went to high school in Somerville and actually had a job on main street Somerville at Big Sounds music store in the 80's. Brooks was long gone by then, as Big Sounds is now.
Here's a map of the old location and a postcard from 1908 showing the general area the location would be found. (I believe it's the brown bld. furthest away behind tree)I worked a block down on the opposite side of the road, just to the left, out of view in the photo......if anyone cares.

Very interesting, Rich. I particularly like the instruction manual for the "X" counterstamped for the "80" instead, particularly since your machine is neither type!rgordon939 wrote:Well I finally picked it up this morning and it's still in the back of my van. Re: Identify Victor Model
Here are some pictures of the Victor VV-XIV serial #172065 in oak dated 1918. Got it inside today and put it in my new phono room. I originally bought it to sell it but now it think it may be a keeper, or at least till I get to pick up my Victor XXV School House.
