I just ordered a replacement back bracket for this machine (my last project)from Ron S. I made an attempt to remove the old bracket which is on the verge of becoming powder to see how the tone arm comes off. The very bottom of the tone arm back bracket which attaches to the cabinet is made of steel. I separated the two pieces and notice the pot metal section extends into the steel bottom plate and contains the notch to limit tone arm travel. This whole pot metal ring remained in the steel section which contains the ball bearings for the tone arm. Curious if the repro back brackets contain the pot metal section that mates with the steel section plus the two index pins. Does anyone have the instructions on how the tone arm separates from the old back bracket Thanks

Sorry, I think I have the other configuration with 3 holes. To be safe I would leave it together until you receive the replacement bracket and go from there. I remember I had to very forcefully separate pot metal pieces from the bottom steel plate, because a previous owner had "fixed" the back bracket with globs of JB Weld (I think). But which parts exactly I don't remember.

Thanks alang. Well since the section that remained in the steel base was definitely part of the pot metal bracket I used a cutting wheel, ground a section of the swollen pot metal part that remained in the steel base and weakened it. Creamed it with a heavy hammer and that was the end of the stuck pot metal piece.....

At any rate, the replacement is on its way Ron said they were aluminum. I sure hope this goes well. Again alang thanks much really appreciate the help. Cheers
